Abstract

ABSTRACT Fiber‐based devices have attracted attention owing to their potential in wearable smart systems to provide comfort, mechanical flexibility, moisture resistance, and breathability. This study investigates a fiber‐type synaptic memristive device that forms a methylammonium copper chloride and poly(vinylidene fluoride‐co‐hexa‐fluoropropylene) nanocomposite active layer on carbon nanotube yarns. The device exhibits a stable performance even after exposure to water. In addition, this device demonstrates flexibility and stable synaptic performance under physical stresses, such as bending and coiling. Moreover, it mimics various synaptic behaviors in the human brain and achieves a pattern‐recognition accuracy of up to 88.1% using a handwritten digit dataset. The findings on fiber‐type artificial synapses show significant potential for future wearable smart systems.
