Abstract

ABSTRACT This study focuses on the modeling and performance analysis of a dual‐frequency cross‐shaped metamaterial absorber for wireless and stealth applications. The design consists array of four symmetrical cross‐shaped metallic resonators patterned on an FR4 substrate with a full‐metal ground plane to eliminate transmission. The proposed structure has achieved above 99% absorption at two distinct frequency bands in the microwave range. The absorber has demonstrated peak absorption values of 99.85% at 5.085 GHz for peak‐1 and 99.70% at 14.76 GHz for peak‐2 for both TE as well as TM polarizations. The presented absorber design exhibits over 70% absorption up to a 70 incident angle, demonstrating good angular stability. It also shows polarization insensitivity and provides EMI shielding effectiveness exceeding 25 and 40 dB at the primary and secondary resonance peaks, respectively.
