Enantio‐ and Diastereoselective Synthesis of Axially and Centrally Dual Chiral Diaryl Ethers via Copper‐Catalyzed Asymmetric Silylation
Abstract
Axially chiral diaryl ethers are an important class of structural units widely used in natural product synthesis and drug design and as ligands for asymmetric catalysis. Although some progress has been made in the synthesis of axially chiral diaryl ethers, the vast majority of reports limited to construct a single CO axially chiral element. Herein, we developed an efficient copper‐catalyzed asymmetric silylation access to axially and centrally dual chiral diaryl ethers via a desymmetrization strategy. The strategy utilized the N ‐heterocyclic carbene as chiral ligand and a Si–B reagent as the silicon pronucleophile. The practical methodology furnishes axially chiral diaryl ethers decorated with a centrally chiral α‐hydroxysilane moiety in moderate to good yields and with high enantio‐ as well as excellent diastereoselectivities.
