Abstract

Ectosomal Calhm6 in Sepsis High mortality in sepsis patients emphasizes the urgent need to control acute inflammation. The Research Article by Jing Geng, Yanlong Xin, Xiaofan Xiong, and co-workers (DOI: 10.1002/advs.202502395) identifies the ion channel Calhm6 is produced by M1-like macrophages and delivered via ectosomes. The cover artwork illustrates the man (M1-like macrophage) releases the hero (Calhm6) through the ectosomes (backpack) and cooperates with other helpers (M2-like macrophage) to fight the monster (acute inflammation).
