Self‐Trapped Excitons in Carbon Quantum Dots with Large NIR‐II Photo‐Thermoelectric Catalysis Induce Pyroptosis for Cancer Therapy (Adv. Sci. 4/2026)
Abstract
NIR-II Pyroptosis Agents This study develops carbon quantum dots with high-density self-trapped excitons that exhibit strong NIR-II absorption and exceptional photothermal conversion. Through photo-thermoelectric catalysis, they generate cytotoxic radicals, triggering pyroptosis. This approach not only ablates primary tumors but also activates systemic antitumor immunity, effectively creating an in situ cancer vaccine and offering a novel strategy for precision immuno-oncology.
