Abstract

A membrane-penetrating molecular device composed of triplex containing cholesterol-modified acyclic L-threoninol nucleic acid (L-aTNA) is achieved. This device is applied to a reversible photo-triggered signal transduction system functioning on giant unilamellar vesicles. UV irradiation-induced release of DNA-based molecular signals into the GUV interior, which recovers after irradiation with visible light, as reported by Hiroyuki Asanuma, Keiji Murayama, and Kaifu Liu in their Research Article (e16095).
