Abstract

In their Research Article (e21118), Xiaohui He, Hongbing Ji, Graham J. Hutchings, and co-workers report a Pt1Aun/TiO2 catalyst with spatially separate H2 and O2 activation sites for direct synthesis of H2O2. H2 dissociates at Pt single-atom sites, O2 stabilizes at Au nanoparticle sites, and CH2OH acts as hydrogen carrier to transfer H, which combines with O2 on Au nanoparticles to form H2O2. It achieves ∼100% H2O2 selectivity, 128.6 mol·gN.M.−1·h−1 productivity, and a ∼4 wt.% H2O2 concentration.
