Abstract

Key Takeaways The AWWA Standards Program has 78 committees focused on creating and monitoring standards for the water industry; more than 1,600 volunteers serve on these committees. The water industry's young professionals (YPs) are in a position to contribute valuable perspectives to the standards and guidance developed by their more senior colleagues. By graduating to different levels of volunteer service in the standards program, YPs can have a voice in their profession and build their careers.
