Abstract

Accurate transfer of peri-implant soft tissue contours from provisional to definitive restorations is essential for achieving optimal esthetic and biologic outcomes in FP1 full-arch implant prostheses. Although digital workflows are increasingly popular, analog techniques remain clinically relevant, particularly in settings where digital resources are unavailable. This case report describes a simplified analog clinical technique for approximate transfer of gingival contours from a provisional FP1 prosthesis to the definitive master cast without obtaining a new impression. A 79-year-old male patient underwent full-arch implant rehabilitation with FP1 prostheses following a four-month period of soft tissue conditioning using a provisional restoration. The gingival contours were delineated intraorally with a surgical marker, transferred to the master cast through selective gingival mask injection, and refined by trimming to the marked cervical contour. The definitive monolithic zirconia prosthesis was fabricated using the modified cast. Clinical evaluation at three months demonstrated stable peri-implant soft tissues and satisfactory esthetic outcomes. This simplified analog technique does not provide micrometric accuracy but offers a cost-effective and practical alternative for transferring gingival contours when digital workflows are not accessible.
