Abstract

ABSTRACT A novel dicopper(II, II) complex ( C pyrene ) was attached on multi‐walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) electrodes resulting in a nanohybrid electrode (MWCNT@ C pyrene ) able to partially oxidize toluene to benzaldehyde and benzyl alcohol with 300 and 409 TON h −1 , respectively, in 1,2‐difluorobenzene. Exchanging the solvent by acetonitrile leads to the additional N‐benzylacetamide formation from the C–N coupling of toluene and in situ solvent oxidation with 313 TON h −1 at room temperature.
