Abstract

The Front Cover visualizes the restoration of a polluted environment by using bioremediation. The left side depicts soil contaminated by heavy metals, synthetic dyes, crude oil, and PAHs. The central sphere illustrates the core technology, which consists of microorganism-immobilized engineered-alginate materials. These bio-agents effectively interact with and neutralize the toxins, driving the transformation from a barren industrial wasteland into the lush, healthy ecosystem shown on the right. More information can be found in the Review by R. K. Gupta and E. Y. Lee co-workers (DOI: 10.1002/cssc.202501882).
