Control of a Single‐Phase Dual‐Output Six‐Switch Inverter With SVPWM
Abstract
ABSTRACT When controlling a dual‐output six‐switch inverter using the existing sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) algorithm, the power devices at the circuit's mid‐position operate at a switching frequency twice that of the upper‐end and lower‐end power devices. Even for the upper‐end and lower‐end power devices, their switching frequency is as high as that of the carrier signal. To effectively reduce the switching frequency of the devices and minimize the discrepancy in switching frequencies among all power devices in a six‐switch inverter, this study explores the feasibility of implementing space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) control strategy for dual‐output single‐phase inverters. Based on the analysis results, an SVPWM algorithm for six‐switch inverters is designed. Theoretical analysis indicates that, compared with the existing SPWM algorithm, the proposed SVPWM algorithm can halve the switching frequency of the upper‐end and lower‐end power devices, while reducing the switching frequency of the mid‐position power devices by up to three‐quarters. Additionally, specific analog circuit or digital implementation methods are provided in the paper, demonstrating the feasibility of the SVPWM algorithm and its significant application prospects in the control of dual output single‐phase six‐switch inverters.
