Dual‐Band Omnidirectional Scattering Suppression via Anisotropic Epsilon‐Near‐Zero Metamaterials
Abstract
ABSTRACT Invisibility and electromagnetic concealment represent one of the most pressing frontiers in modern photonics. Conventional cloaking strategies, however, typically suffer from single‐frequency operation, limited angular robustness, or structural complexity. Here, we introduce a simple yet powerful metamaterial coating based on anisotropic epsilon‐near‐zero meshes that enables omnidirectional scattering suppression of electrically large objects—well beyond the wavelength scale—at two distinct and tunable frequencies. The scattering suppression ability arises from two complementary mechanisms of dispersion engineering and boundary‐condition control. Microwave experiments confirm the scattering suppression at both operational frequencies, demonstrating the practicality of our design. These results establish a robust and scalable platform for multifrequency cloaking and radar cross‐section reduction, paving the way for advanced stealth and wave‐manipulation technologies.
