Interaction Characteristics of Capillary Coplanar Dielectric Barrier Discharge Plasma With Soil Particles: Experiments and Simulations
Abstract
ABSTRACT Capillary coplanar dielectric barrier discharge arrays are employed to investigate plasma–soil interaction characteristics through experiments and numerical simulations in this study. Optical characteristics reveal that the soil particles constrain the discharge region, resulting in a decrease of the vibrational temperature. A single pulse discharge consists of a primary discharge followed by a secondary discharge, both of which interact with the soil particle. In the central cross‐section, both primary and secondary surface streamers are obstructed by the soil particle. In the off‐center cross‐section, the air gap provides a continuous evolution path, enabling surface streamers to traverse the gap and envelop the entire particle. A continuous surface‐clinging mode propagates on smooth particle, whereas a hopping propagation mode is formed on rough particle.
