Abstract

ABSTRACT Photocatalysis, as a technology capable of environmentally friendly degradation of water pollutants, is widely applied in various fields. However, its low efficiency has become an issue that needs to be addressed. The Fenton reaction is considered an advanced, green, and efficient water treatment technology, and its combination with photocatalysis for degradation can effectively address the issue of low photocatalytic efficiency. Therefore, BaFe 12 O 19 @C 3 N 5( BFO@CN) II‐type heterojunction composite materials were synthesized via a simple one‐step thermal polymerization method and used to degrade tetracycline hydrochloride (TC) under visible light conditions in this work. After 40 min of illumination, the degradation rate reached 93.7%. It is demonstrated that the formation of a heterojunction effectively expands the light absorption range based on experimental data and characterization results. The conversion between Fe 3 + and Fe 2 + in the Fenton reaction facilitates the separation of electron‐hole pairs, enhancing the separation efficiency of photogenerated charge carriers. Additionally, the synergistic effect of visible light and Fenton oxidation can be effectively utilized, thereby achieving highly efficient photocatalytic degradation of tetracycline hydrochloride (TC). This study further investigates the possible reaction mechanisms of TC degradation. It provides new perspectives and a theoretical basis for the development of efficient photocatalytic materials for the treatment of antibiotic pollution.
