Thermophysical and Supercapacitor Electrode Performances of L‐Asparagine Sodium Formate Organic Single Crystals
Abstract
ABSTRACT L‐Asparagine Sodium Formate (LASF) single crystals were grown and examined for the first time for possible use in optoelectronic and supercapacitor applications. Single crystal x‐Ray Diffraction (SXRD) analysis confirmed slight changes in the lattice parameters of the grown crystals. Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) verified the presence of characteristic functional groups of LASF in all samples. The elemental composition and purity of the crystals were confirmed using energy dispersive x‐ray (EDAX) analysis. UV–Vis spectroscopy was carried out to evaluate the optical band gap. Additional optical parameters such as cut‐off wavelength (λmax), band gap (Eg), linear refractive index (n), reflectance, extinction coefficient (k), dielectric constant, optical conductivity (σop), and electrical conductivity (σel) were also calculated. The photoluminescence spectrum of the crystal exhibited a strong blue emission at 490 nm, indicating suitability for fluorescence in blue LED applications. Thermal analysis (TGA/DTA) showed that the crystal remains stable up to 260°C. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) measurements revealed a mean specific capacitance of 501.08 F/g. Impedance analysis indicated bulk resistance and grain boundary values of 843 and 1243 ohms for the LASF single crystal.
