Abstract

Fluxional Atomic Metal Clusters Although built from heavy-metal atoms, in their Research Article (10.1002/sstr.202500478), María Pilar de Lara-Castells, Katarzyna M. Krupka, and Berta Fernándezit show that ultra-small silver clusters exhibit conical intersections that trigger Jahn–Teller (JT) distortions and fluxional behavior. A support-driven shift from JT to pseudo-JT distortions is also uncovered and the capabilities of high-level ab initio benchmarking are highlighted with the emphasis on experimental observables.
