Abstract

While concrete has been used for centuries it is far from being used in the most profound way.Due to being cast in rigid moulds since its invention, resulting in a large carbondioxide footprint as well as a high use of the material in prismatic structural shapes, there is need for inventions and innovation.Concrete offers opportunities to create structures with almost any geometry economically.Flexible formwork technologies allows to explore new approaches in design as well as in decreasing the CO 2 footprints. The state of the art is shown pp 911-935.(photo: Mark West (C.A.S.T.)) fédération internationale du béton
