Prandtl–Eyring Fluid Flow Over a Multi‐Slippery Curved Riga Surface for the Optimization of the Heat Transfer by Control Volume Finite Element Method
Abstract
ABSTRACT The Prandtl–Eyring fluid (PEF) estimates heat and mass transfer in energy systems like enhanced oil recovery and geothermal systems. The Prandtl–Eyring fluid flows over a slippery Riga curve surface is considered. The governing PDEs (partial differential equations) describe the fluid motion, thermal distribution, and concentration fields that are solved by the control volume finite element method CVFEM. The transformed dimensionless equations are solved using the homotopy analysis method HAM. The Riga slip‐curved surface has a significant impact on key parameters; also, increased fluid motion and turbulence lead to an increase in the Nusselt number, which, in turn, improves heat transfer. The results show relative errors that range from 0.016% to 0.03%. Enhanced heat transfer can be achieved by increasing the Reynolds number, which results in stronger fluid mixing and boundary layer thinning. The accuracy of the current model for the prediction of heat transfer characteristics is confirmed by its agreement with existing literature and errors below 2% in the current study.
