Responsiveness
Abstract
Responsiveness is a concept of central importance for political science research and has consequently been the subject of a large number of empirical studies, especially since the mid-1990s (Beyer & Hänni, 2018 , p. 24). The main assumption underlying the empirical research on opinion-policy responsiveness expressed by Gilens ( 2012 , p. 70): “Democratic responsiveness implies a positive association between the level of public support for a policy and the likelihood of that policy being adopted.”
