Abstract

In Chap. 9, the book concludes by suggesting an intercultural approach to canon law and developing a glocal view of it that considers the interconnections between its global and local dynamics. Following sociologist Boaventura de Sousa Santos, it suggests that counterhegemonic globalisation can challenge hegemonic globalisation, offering alternative strategies to overcome the asymmetrical power relations established by traditional global politics. Chap. 9 outlines how this could play out for canon law.
