Abstract

Abstract As part of an ongoing and co-created ethnographic project, this chapter explores the experiences of people with nonnormative gender identities and sexualities, as well as heterosexual and cisgender women, who signed the 2016 peace agreement between the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia—People’s Army (FARC-EP) and are currently in their reincorporation process. We want to contribute to recovering and making visible their memories, articulating narratives about their present, and exploring discourses about possible futures. The chapter delves into their stories before, during, and after the signing of the agreement, revealing their diverse political backgrounds as peasants, guerrilla fighters, and peace agreement signatories. Through their practices and speeches, we analyze how they build peace and challenge the prevailing national discourse on security and the ‘post-conflict.’ Ultimately, this chapter opens paths toward our collective weaving of a narrative texture .
