Abstract

Abstract Cross-cultural religious literacy represents a distinctive form of multicultural education with roots in the development of American Protestantism and its emphasis on individual scriptural interpretation and denominational diversity (Wuthnow, 1988; Finke & Stark, 1992). This educational approach gained significant momentum following the Second Vatican Council's reforms, particularly the 1965 Nostra Aetate declaration that explicitly promoted understanding, dialogue, and reconciliation with other religious traditions (Valkenberg, 2016; Fitzgerald & Borelli, 2006).
