India has a wide range of potential and challenges with regard to the development of the infrastructure for the active transportation. As it is observed, that age, income, and physical capabilities are important individual characteristics. Active transportation is frequently rather significant for children and young people. The low-income individuals might not be able to buy a car, so active forms of transportation are crucial substitutes for this group. With the above understanding, a study on willingness to shift to active mobility will be carried out in the Hisar city, Haryana, India. The study focuses on assessing the willingness in mode choice based on quality of services for the city Hisar. Based on regression modeling this study presents the results related to travel characteristics of the respondents of the study area. In addition to this, it shows the routes identified based on traffic characteristics and their redesigning with the incorporation of suitable standards as per guidelines. The goal will be achieved by first analyzing the existing socio demographic, travel characteristics, travel attributes, and the existing travel scenario of the city along various routes. This will help in identifying the determinants and hindrances in promoting walking and cycling.
