Finite State Machines
Abstract
In Chapter 5 , we explored gate-level, switch-level, and structural modeling, focusing on low-level hardware implementation in Verilog. Now, in this chapter, we transition to Finite State Machines (FSMs), a fundamental concept in digital design that enables sequential logic control for complex systems. FSMs provide a structured approach to designing circuits with memory and predictable state transitions, making them essential for controllers, protocol handling, and decision-making logic.
