The Tropical Amplituhedron
Abstract
Abstract The Amplituhedron is a subspace of the Grassmannian that was recently defined by Arkani-Hamed and Trnka in their study of scattering amplitudes in planar $$\mathcal {N}=4$$ N = 4 super Yang Mills theory, and was the subject of many papers in the last decade. In this work we define a tropical analog of the amplituhedron, and develop techniques to address it. We prove that many of the key properties of the amplituhedron also hold in this simpler, piecewise linear, model.
