Abstract

We focused intensely on diversifying both our authorship and our editorial board. This was not a symbolic gesture; it was a recognition that the scientific challenges and clinical realities of abdominal radiology differ across regions and must be represented in our pages.A core pillar of this global vision has been our commitment to Open Access. We believe research should be accessible to everyone, and breaking down barriers to knowledge is essential for innovation and global equity. We have seen incredible momentum on this front, with more than 200 new Open Access articles published since our new vision began in 2024.Springer Nature's Transformative Agreements have been instrumental in enabling many authors to publish OA without facing Article Processing Charges, ensuring their work reaches the widest possible audience. At the same time, we fundamentally redesigned our editorial workflow.By streamlining review pathways and improving internal coordination, we have significantly accelerated our editorial turnaround.Authors now experience a far more responsive and efficient process-one that provides timely, decisive, and thoughtful assessments while maintaining the highest standards of scientific rigor.
