Abstract

The emerging demand for efficient and secure 6G networks facilitates advanced modulation and multiple-access techniques. The proposed LIMED-6G, a hybrid framework integrating Index Modulation Multiple Access (IMMA) and Multiple Input Multiple Output—Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (MIMO-NOMA) to enhance spectral efficiency, reduce bit errors and improve physical layer security is carried out. LIMED-6G aims to maximize spectrum utilization while maintaining reliable and secure communication, addressing the limitations of conventional IMMA and MIMO-NOMA schemes. Simulation results show that LIMED-6G achieves a spectrum efficiency of 9 b/s/Hz at a modulation order of 16, an 80% improvement over IMMA, with a 40–50% advantage at higher modulation orders. In terms of reliability, LIMED-6G demonstrates a 90% reduction in Average Bit Error Rate (ABER) at high SNRs and a 43% increase in Secrecy Sum Rate (SSR) compared to existing methods. These results establish LIMED-6G has a robust, high-performance solution for future 6G networks. It also offers a significant improvement in efficiency, error handling capacity and secure data transmission over recently proposed techniques. LIMED-6G also incorporates dynamic modulation for varying user conditions and enhancing overall network performance. Additionally, advanced interference cancellation techniques optimize communication streams is also incorporated for high capacity and secure 6G communication systems.
