Topic-Fragmented Belief and Doxastic Necessity
Abstract
Abstract This paper introduces a novel formal framework for addressing the challenges of the problem of logical omniscience and fragmentationalism in doxastic logic. It uses the notion of “topic” to explain how an agent’s belief state can be fragmented and provides a new interpretation for the alethic modal operator within doxastic contexts. The resulting framework is adaptable, providing a foundation for developing variants and extensions.
