Abstract

) is a small molecule Janus kinase (JAK)/Rho-associated coiled-coil-containing protein kinase (ROCK) inhibitor being developed by Chia Tai Tianqing Pharmaceutical Group (a subsidiary of Sino Biopharmaceutical) for the treatment of primary myelofibrosis (PMF), post-polycythemia vera myelofibrosis (PPV-MF), post-essential thrombocythemia myelofibrosis (PET-MF), graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) and haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). On 25 February 2026, rovadicitinib received its first approval in China as first-line treatment for adult patients with intermediate-2 or higher-risk PMF, PPV-MF or PET-MF. This article summarizes the milestones in the development of rovadicitinib leading to this first approval for myelofibrosis.
