Abstract

In present day of rapidly growing industrial technologies, flexible manipulators have emerged as mandatory element related to their adaptability, efficiency and wide spread applications. They are crucial in handling delicate materials, performing operations in limited spaces and adjust to quick modifications in the process of production. Along with this advantages, flexible manipulators present a lot of challenges in control of vibrations and tracking the tip trajectory which is in turn related to accuracy of positioning, precision and overall performance of the system. In this regard, various researchers have explored a variety of approaches extensively ranging from advanced materials selection and structural designs to intelligent centric strategies. The paper aims to give a comprehensive review of technologies and advancements in the field of controlling single flexible link manipulators (SFLM), showcasing the materials used, optimization of geometry, application of Finite element analysis (FEA) techniques for dynamic modelling, and experimentation methods carried out by various researchers in order to validate the simulated outcomes. The insights and observations summarized in this present work shall be helpful for researchers in enhancing the accuracy, robustness and vibration reduction capabilities of flexible manipulators.
