Abstract

Abstract By virtue of excellent combination properties of metals and ceramics, such as good electrical and thermal conductivity, relatively low friction coefficient, and good corrosion resistance, Ti 3 AlC 2 draws great interests as corrosion-resistant materials. Here, resin composite coating reinforced by Ti 3 AlC 2 was successfully fabricated based on the effective cold spray method. High-energy ball milling was conducted to refine Ti 3 AlC 2 to improve their dispersibility in epoxy resin. The effect of ball milling parameters (time, speed, ball to material ratio) on the phase composition and microstructural structure of Ti 3 AlC 2 grains were characterized by XRD and SEM, respectively. The electrochemical properties and anti-corrosion mechanism of Ti 3 AlC 2 /resin composite coating was determined and analyzed. The results shows that the most excellent mode value of low-frequency region |Z| (the coating impedance) is 615081 Ω·cm 2 . The critical anti-corrosion of Ti 3 AlC 2 /resin composite coating can be attribute to the micropores generated after epoxy resin curing were effectively filled and sealed by finer-grained Ti 3 AlC 2 . .
