Exploring the Supportive Care Needs of Head and Neck Cancer Patients by Case Management Model
Abstract
Objective: In southern Taiwan, betel nut cultivation is common, leading to a high prevalence of chewing habits. Consequently, head and neck cancer ranks as the second most prevalent cancer in a regional medical center. Treatments mainly include chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiotherapy, all of which result in significant physical and psychological side effects. Oncology case managers play a key role in identifying and addressing patients’ diverse care needs during treatment. This study aimed to explore the supportive care needs of head and neck cancer patients by using a case management model.
