Abstract

After successful research on the use of blockchain outside the financial theme, including supply chain, energy, intellectual property, and government, researchers in the healthcare field have shown interest in using this technology for security purposes. Although research in this area is relatively recent, more investigations are needed to help motivate and encourage researchers to submit new work in this field. In this study, the application of blockchain in healthcare is explored in detail based on its models and architecture to present a brief report on the systems and applications found to leverage the technology. Furthermore, the study concisely compares the systems and techniques that will contribute to creating a generalizable predictive machine learning model for data management and decision-making in healthcare.
