Abstract

Transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM) is a progressive disease caused by transthyretin tetramer destabilization and characterized by arrhythmias and heart failure.1 Atrial fibrillation and/or atrial flutter (hereafter AF) are common tachyarrhythmias in ATTR-CM and often precede heart failure symptoms.1, 2 With a reported prevalence of up to 70%,2 AF in ATTR-CM is associated with a high burden of symptomatic heart failure, reduced quality of life, and adverse outcomes.2, 3 Acoramidis is an oral transthyretin stabilizer for ATTR-CM that achieves near-complete (≥90%) stabilization.
