Revisiting Revascularization for Heart Failure With Reduced Ejection Fraction in the Era of Modern Medical Therapy
Abstract
Ischemic cardiomyopathy (ICM) is a leading cause of heart failure, with rising incidence due to the increased prevalence of coronary artery disease. Patients with ICM have higher rates of heart failure with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (HFrEF), hospitalization for acute heart failure, ventricular arrhythmias, and angina. International guidelines recommend coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery in patients with stable ischemic heart disease and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF)
