Abstract

The use of fossil fuels for large-scale electricity production results in the depletion of natural resources and contributes to climate change. For a sustainable solution to environmental damage, renewable energy has been developed worldwide, having a significant impact. Among them, solar power is an essential renewable energy source for electricity generation at minimal cost. The present work introduces a new three-layer (Ti-SiC- SiO 2 ) solar thermal absorber design with a high efficiency of 91.56% at a large wavelength of 2800 nm. As a graphene solar absorber, the materials used include Titanium (Ti) for the resonance structure as the surface layer, while two ceramic materials, Silicon Carbide (SiC) and Silicon Dioxide (SiO 2 ) are applied as the substrate and base layer, respectively. The developed thermal absorber demonstrates an absorption rate of 98.45% at 500 nm, and a parametric analysis has been conducted using Machine Learning with the linear regression method. With its multiple applications, the developed solar absorber can be used in photovoltaics, solar distillation, seawater desalination, power generation, telecommunication systems, and space heating.
