Optimal framework for integrated energy system considering carbon emission-green certificate mutual offsetting mechanism and multiple energy prices impacting
Abstract
Climate change has become one of the most pressing challenges facing the global community, and controlling greenhouse gas emissions is a global consensus and an urgent task. To achieve the objectives of reducing carbon emissions and promoting energy transition, this study proposes an integrated energy system (IES) optimization framework that considers the mutual offsetting of carbon emissions from renewable energy (RE) over its lifecycle and green certificates. By quantifying the emission reduction efficacy of RE and the power generation capacity of green electricity under the same consumption levels, this framework facilitates energy transition. The proposed carbon quota allocation method for RE based on marginal emission reduction contributions offers a novel approach to assessing carbon quotas over the lifecycle of renewable energy. Additionally, this study proposes a price signal transmission model under multi-market linkage method that considers the impact of different energy prices on carbon emissions and green certificate prices, providing new insights into the pricing of carbon emissions and green certificates. Experimental results indicate that the framework proposed in this study can reduce the comprehensive cost of IES by 1.72%, reduce carbon emission by 23.08%, and increase the energy transition rate by 3.05%. • This study proposes a carbon emission quota allocation method that takes into account emission reduction contributions. • This study proposes a price signal transmission model under multi-market linkage for measuring the impact of different types of energy prices on carbon emission prices and green certificate prices. • A framework is proposed that considers the mutual offsetting of carbon emissions and green certificate costs based on the emission reduction ability of integrated energy systems.
