Abstract

Cryotherapy is commonly used to treat actinic keratoses (AKs), yet recommended protocols vary across studies and reference texts. This cross-sectional survey evaluated real-world cryotherapy practices among 81 clinicians. Mean freeze duration per cycle was 7.98seconds for thin AKs and 10.88seconds for thick AKs. Two cycles were used more often for thick lesions. Freeze duration and cycle number were guided mainly by lesion characteristics and visual cues rather than strict timing. These findings describe contemporary practice patterns and provide a pragmatic reference point for cryotherapy training and clinical decision-making.
