Abstract

The study by Boudhabhay et al., published in Kidney International Reports, provides a timely and mechanistically oriented contribution to the evolving understanding of immune checkpoint inhibitor–associated acute interstitial nephritis (ICI-AIN).1 By integrating multiplex immunofluorescence with unsupervised clustering, the authors move beyond descriptive histology to propose biologically distinct inflammatory subtypes with prognostic relevance.
