Clarifying Renal-Risk Inference From High-Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein in CKD
Abstract
We read with interest the TriNetX analysis by Halimi et al., which showed that hsCRP ≥2 mg/L was associated with higher risks of major cardiovascular events and death in CKD, and with a borderline higher risk of ESKD in the diabetes subgroup [1]. The cardiovascular findings are noteworthy. We wonder, however, whether the renal conclusion would benefit from more cautious framing.
