Abstract

A novel surface modification strategy using lithium hexafluorosilicate (Li 2 SiF 6 , LSF) is developed to enhance the interfacial stability and electrochemical performance of LiNi 0.5 Mn 1.5 O 4 (LNMO) cathode material. LNMO@1wt%LSF delivers an initial Coulombic efficiency of 81.58% and a high-rate discharge capacity of 84.85 mAh g −1 at 15C. It maintains 117.82 mAh g −1 after 600 cycles at 25 °C and 2C, and retains 75.34% of its capacity after 200 cycles at 55 °C. The coating reduces interfacial and charge-transfer resistance and enhances voltage stability. This work demonstrates that the LSF coating is a very promising strategy for improving the electrochemical performance of LNMO cathode materials.
