Ce2Mo3O12/g-C3N4 nanocomposites: Optimization of synthesis parameters, characterization, and study as a potential hydrogen storage material
Abstract
In order to improve the electrochemical hydrogen storage capacity, Ce 2 Mo 3 O 12 /g-C 3 N 4 nanocomposites were synthesized via sonochemical approach with involving desirable electrochemical efficiency, great specific surface area, and special morphology. Herein, the electrochemical hydrogen storage abilities of as-schemed electrodes, namely Ce 2 Mo 3 O 12 , g-C 3 N 4 , and Ce 2 Mo 3 O 12 /g-C 3 N 4 nanocomposites were studied via chronopotentiometry charge–discharge (CCD) method at constant current. According to the obtained results, the combination effect between the Ce 2 Mo 3 O 12 and g-C 3 N 4 can boost the electrochemical hydrogen storage performance in terms of discharge capacity and cycling stability. The maximum value of capacity for Ce 2 Mo 3 O 12 /g-C 3 N 4 nanocomposites was about 1920.3 mAh/g, which is a significant result as compared to the Ce 2 Mo 3 O 12 (S 3 , 1003.2 mAh/g) after 20 cycles. Consequently, the Ce 2 Mo 3 O 12 /g-C 3 N 4 nanocomposites displayed a worthy capacity as capable active materials for hydrogen storage application.
