Abstract

• Reliable redox/immune biomarkers were selected in the blood and RBCs of ALS patients • Six months of supplementation with CLA does not modify the ALS-FRS-R score • At T6, riluzole+CLA ameliorates the ALS-related decline in blood BDNF and P-SH levels • At T6, riluzole+CLA ameliorates ALS-related decrease of GSR and G6PD activity in RBCs • CLA supplementation moderates the decline of Nrf2-activated defences in ALS patients
