Abstract

Many years ago, we published the case of a colonoscopy where an apparently normal appendiceal orifice (AO) was seen, but later an adenomatous polyp emerged from the AO (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29908174/). We published a sequel where colonoscopy in a 45-year-old physician revealed an almost normal AO, but on decompression of the cecum, a subepithelial mass was noted around the AO, which, with computed tomography imaging and surgery, was found to be a large appendiceal mucinous tumor (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/32730822/).
