Endowments-swapping-proof object reallocation with transfers
Abstract
We study the object reallocation problem with transfers. We show that if a rule satisfies endowments-swapping-proofness, strategy-proofness, individual rationality, and no subsidy (or non-imposition), then it is equivalent to the top trading cycles rule without transfers (TTC without transfers). Therefore, even when transfers among agents are permitted, no transfer occurs under the class of rules satisfying these four properties, not even in the form of fixed prices.
