Abstract

Unexplained infertility is defined as the inability to conceive despite normal findings on a standard fertility evaluation. While traditionally regarded as an isolated reproductive condition, infertility is increasingly recognized as a potential marker of broader systemic health, and genetics could play a role. We recently found that women with unexplained infertility have a three-fold increased risk of pathogenic/likely pathogenic (P/LP) variants in medically actionable genes, most commonly predisposing to cancer and cardiovascular disease.
