Abstract

Identifying individuals with hereditary breast and ovarian cancer (HBOC) permits actionable changes to their healthcare that reduce morbidity and mortality. However, screening at population-level is severely limited by referral patterns and workforce availability. To address this need, Kaiser Permanente's Precision Medicine and Genomics Program and the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group evaluated electronic visits (e-visits) utilizing member online accounts to capture survey data for hereditary breast and ovarian cancer risk assessment coupled to genetic counseling services.
