Abstract

Population genomic screening intends to identify individuals with inherited disease predisposition to enable prevention, early diagnosis, and tailored treatment. However, engagement with genetic results and adherence to management recommendations among individuals ascertained through genomic screening is suboptimal. Software solutions that include clinical decision support (CDS) and digital patient navigators (DPN) could support non-genetics clinicians and patients in improving engagement and adherence to care but little is known about the degree to which patients ascertained via genomic screening engage with such tools.
