Abstract

While the primary goal of prenatal genomic sequencing is to identify fetal disease, this testing can also uncover health implications for biological parents. Fetal exome and genome sequencing often incorporate parental samples to aid with variant interpretation, and as a result, information may be learned about parental health when genetic variants are inherited. We aimed to determine the frequency with which genetic variants with potential parental health implications were identified through genomic sequencing for fetal congenital anomalies.
